Aviators Soar Past Leopards 3-1 in Sectional Bout
Alliance, OH- The Alliance Aviators welcomed former NBC foe Louisville to town to kick-off tournament play on the 2025 season. Following a 1-2-3 top of the first from DiAngelo Fisk, the Aviators wasted no time getting him support as lead-off hitter Brady White opened the home half with a single. Fisk followed with a single of his own to help his own cause. From there, Lincoln Reese drew a 1 out walk to load the bases before Charlie Ekey broke the tie with a sacrifice fly that plated White. Fisk would come home on a wild pitch later in the inning, giving the hosts a 2-0 lead after 1.
The teams would trade zeroes over the next 3 innings before the Aviators would tack on an insurance run in the home half of the 5th. That run was brought home when Bo Davis smacked a single through the infield, bringing White around to score.
The Leopards finally were able to put a blemish on Fisk in the top of the 6th when Cooper Rice sent a sinking liner to right field that got past the right fielder, enabling Rice to advance to 3rd. He would come in on a fielders choice off the bat of Bryce Johnson. Following a walk, Fisk was able to get out of the inning with no further damage.
The Leopards led off the 7th with a single before Fisk finished them off by retiring the next three batters in order. With the victory, the Aviators advance to take on the Lake Blue Streaks in the District semi-final on Tuesday.
