Field Downs the Aviators 5-3

Brimfield, OH- The Field Falcons welcomed the Alliance Aviators to town Friday evening in a non-conference showdown of two of the area’s top programs. It was game #4 on the week for both teams, with each winning their prior 3.

The Falcons got on the board first, plating 3 in the home half of the 2nd inning. First it was lead-off hitter Joey Conroy with an RBI single, bringing Joe Dilworth home, followed by a 2 run double off the bat of Caden Kolesar that plated Caleb Brastine and Conroy. The Aviators got on the board in the top of the 4th, first it was Valentino Fisk bringing Bo Davis home on a fielders choice. Later in the frame, it was Lincon Reese scampering home on a wildpitch that went to the back stop.

It didn’t take long for the Falcons to answer, with 1B Joe Dilworth sending a shot over the left field wall with one down in the bottom half of the 4th. The Falcons would bring another run across, taking advantage of a mishap by the Aviators defense that enabled Brastine to cross home plate to take a 5-2 lead.

The Aviators didn’t fold however, as Bo Davis sent a fly ball to right field in the top of the 5th to bring Brady White across to cut into the Falcons advantage.

From there, Coach Joe Peterson went with the southpaw Kolesar to slam the door shut with 1.1 innings of shutout ball. The game was called with 1 out in the top of the 7th due to lightning.
