Pirates Take Down Vikings 15-2 in 5 Innings
Atwater, OH- The Southeast Pirates made the trek over to Waterloo to take on the Vikings on Thursday evening on the diamond. The Pirates jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Vikings were able to record an out. The Pirates were uber aggressive on the basepaths, running at will throughout much of the game. That aggressive approach led to the early scoring that didn’t slow.
On the mound, it was Sophomore Devyn Miller taking the ball for Coach Matt Dillon. The Sophomore responded by going 3 strong innings, not allowing a hit and only allowing one base on balls while racking up 4 strikeouts. Noah Thornedyke pitched the final two innings, allowing only one hit, a double off the bat of Dalton Braybon for the Vikings’ lone hit on the afternoon.
The Pirates played 16 players in the 5-inning game, with most of the starters exiting after 2 innings of play, giving way to underclassmen to get some varsity experience. Junior Cohen Richardson went 2-2 before exiting, including a triple to the right-center field gap that went to the wall. Alaunte` Massrock and Seth Dillon added doubles for the Pirates. The Pirates racked up 9 stolen bases, with Daniel Clint accounting for 3 of those.
The Pirates wrap up their regular season with a home game against the Rootstown Rovers on Friday evening, while the Vikes travel to Western Reserve to put a bow on their 2026 regular season.
