Streetsboro knocks off Stow 32-26 in overtime behind Johnson-Wilson’s 4 TD’s
MACEDONIA, OH- Boliantz Stadium on the campus of Nordonia High School was the site for a Sunday afternoon full of girls flag football games. Among them was the Streetsboro Rockets who were taking on the Stow Bulldogs. The Lady Rockets were coming off of a split doubleheader on Friday night at Bedford where they defeated Tallmadge and lost the nightcap to a strong North Royalton squad. It was a close game throughout with the Rockets prevailing in overtime 32-26.
Stow began the game with possession. Tea Nagle came up with a sack for the Rockets early on before the Bulldogs converted the first touchdown of the game. They ran it in for a one point conversion to take a 7-0 lead.
Streetsboro would waste no time answering back as Olivia Johnson-Wilson took a handoff to the house for a long touchdown run. They converted a successful two-point conversion pass from Ava Scisciani to Kendall Epple to take an 8-7 lead.

The Rockets defense would then come up big holding Stow to a turnover on downs. On offense it was once again Johnson-Wilson ripping of another long scoring run for her 2nd touchdown of the half. The two point try was no good as the Rockets took a 14-7 lead.

Stow would come right back and tie it at 14 following a touchdown run and missed two-point conversion try. Before the end of the half, Johnson-Wilson would complete her 1st half touchdown trifecta with another touchdown run. The two point conversion was no good and we headed to halftime with Streetsboro leading the Bulldogs 21-14.

The Rockets would open the 2nd half with the ball. On the first play the Bulldogs would pick off a Scisciani pass and take it in for the score. They would miss on the two-point conversion leaving the game tied at 20-20.
Scisciani would come back on the next possession hitting Epple over the middle as she cut outside and took it to the house for the Rockets first passing touchdown of the game. The extra point try was no good as the Rockets pulled ahead 26-20.

The Bulldogs would tie things up once again late in the 2nd half with a touchdown and failed conversion attempt. We were tied up at 26-26.
The Rockets moved the ball on their last possession with a chance to take a late lead, but a Scisciani pass was picked off by the Bulldogs in the endzone. The Rockets were able to stop the Bulldogs on defense and send this one to overtime.
Streetsboro would start with possession. They put the ball in the hands of their star running back once again as Johnson-Wilson broke free across the field and down the sideline for her 4th touchdown of the game. The two-point attempt was unsuccessful and the Rockets held a 32-26 lead needing to stop the Bulldogs one more time for the win.
A long pass attempt by the Bulldogs was picked off by Epple just outside the endzone to end the game. The Rockets took home the 32-26 overtime victory.

Olivia Johnson-Wilson led the way with 4 rushing touchdowns. Kendall Epple chipped in with a touchdown reception and the game clinching interception.
Streetsboro moves to 2-1 on the season. Next up is a matchup with CVCA at North Royalton on 3/29.
