Garfield sets the tone early in impressive 36-14 win over JFK
GARRETTSVILLE, OH- For the second straight week we had a Thursday night special football game as the Garfield G-MEN hosted the JFK Eagles in a game originally scheduled to be played at Liberty on Friday night. Both teams were coming off disappointing Week 1 losses. JFK handed the G-MEN their only regular season loss a year ago at JAG Stadium. Garfield would get revenge on their home turf this night running away with a convincing 36-14 win over the Eagles.
JFK received the opening kickoff. After gaining a first down on the first play from scrimmage, they went three and out aided by a false start penalty and were forced to punt.
Garfield would take their first drive 89 yards in 14 plays chewing up most of the first quarter clock. Brandyn Bogucki would end it with a 13-yard touchdown run. Hannah Timmons would convert the PAT for an early 7-0 G-MEN lead.

Four plays later LeMarcus Provitt would run it in from 7 yards out for the Eagles first score. The PAT would tie things up 7-7.
Garfield would respond and grab the momentum back on their next possession. After five straight running plays, quarterback Jack Neikirk hooked up with William Simon on a 42-yard pass play for the second G-MEN touchdown of the half. Timmons converted the PAT for a 14-7 G-MEN lead with 5:44 to play in the first half.
JFK had a chance to even things up striking on a 61-yard touchdown pass, however it was called back due to a false start penalty. The drive would end on a Nate Baczkowski interception for the G-MEN on a fourth down pass play.
