Crestwood bats keep rolling in 12-1 win over Valley Forge
MANTUA, OH- The Crestwood Lady Red Devils played host to Valley Forge on Saturday afternoon at Crestwood High School. The Devils were looking to keep their hot bats rolling after scoring 15 runs on Thursday against Rootstown. Bella Stier took the mound for Crestwood opposed by Leilah Martinez of the Patriots. The Red Devils offense would get to Martinez early and often on their way to a 12-1 win.
Stier would come out strong in the 1st setting the Patriots down in order with a pair of strikeouts.

Crestwood wasted no time getting the bats going. With one out and a runner at 1st via a walk, Jocelyn Johnson doubled to left scoring Audrey Julian for the first run of the game.

Jillian Hayes would then bring Johnson home on a single to right field for run number two.

Another run would come across after a wild pitch scored Hayes from 3rd. The Red Devils took a 3-0 lead after one.
Valley Forge would get two on after a single and a double put runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. A fly out to right and a runner being thrown out at home got two quick outs before a soft line out to short ended the inning as Stier escaped with no damage.
Serena Wright led off the bottom of the 2nd for Crestwood with a single. She would steal 2nd and advance to 3rd on a wild pitch with two outs. Following a walk to Julian, Stier would help her own cause with a single to center scoring Wright. Another run would score on a Johnson infield single before Hayes ripped a double to right scoring a pair.

Crestwood would lead 7-0 after two.
Valley Forge would get on the board in the top of the 3rd on Madelynn Clark double to left field. Stier would work out of trouble limiting the damage to one run making it a 7-1 game.
Crestwood would add two more in the bottom half. Back to back walks to Grace Harper and Wright put two on with no outs for the Devils. Following a double steal, Harper would score on a Hailey Pesarchick fielders choice. Julian would draw a two out walk to put runners on the corners. Stier then doubled to deep left field scoring both runners giving her 3 RBI on the day.

Crestwood took a 10-1 lead into the 4th inning.
Stier would allow a single in the top of the 4th and hold the Patriots scoreless.
Jillian Hayes led off the bottom half with her 3rd hit of the game as she reached on an infield single. She would advance to 2nd on a wild pitch before pinch hitter Ava Macik brought her home with a single to center.

After a walk to Taylor Lovejoy, Keli Lee reached on an infield single scoring Macik for the Red Devils final run of the game. They led 12-1 after four.
Gracelin Hampton came on to close it out for Crestwood in the 5th. After a pair of strikeouts, the Patriots would have a base runner reach 1st on an error before Hampton induced a fly ball out to center to end the game. The Red Devils would win this one 12-1.
Jillian Hayes paced the offense going 3/3 with a double and 3 RBI. Bella Stier helped her cause on the mound with 2 hits and 3 RBI. On the bump she allowed 1 earned run over 4 innings. Jocelyn Johnson also chipped in with a pair of hits and an RBI.
The Red Devils have now scored 27 runs in their last two games. They will look to keep the offense rolling heading into their OHSAA tournament opener on Thursday when they travel to Pepper Pike to take on the Orange Lions.
