Position outlook:

Infield: Our Infield positions return multiple experienced parts.  1st Team All League Senior Teddy Maccarone (.299 AVG, 407 OBP, 23H, 18RBI, 21R, 7SB, .943 F%) returns at Shortstop after spending most of his Junior year behind home plate. Second Base returns starter Johnny Estep where he received Honorable Mention Honors in 2025.  Firstbase will be manned by Junior Luke Haney and Estep will slide over when Haney pitches. Junior Aiken Benshoff, Sophomores Garrett and Gavin Polcha will all play across the infield as all six guys will be a part of our pitching staff.

Outfield: Our Outfield will return Junior Rocco Baggetta where he earned League Honors a year ago as our Centerfielder.   Senior Nick Roberts worked hard to force his way into our Outfield mix a year ago and he is slotted to man the Rightfiled spot when he isn’t’ pitching. Senior Jack Flynn is slated to start in left field with Sophomore Oliver Walter, Juniors Josh Swaney, Lucas Poluga all fight for innings in the corners, along with Haney at times.

Catcher: We return Senior Rocco Abercrombie and Junior Brock Catalucci behind the dish after both had season ending injuries a year ago. Juniors Owen Puhalla, Lucas Poluga and Josh Swaney will all add depth to the Catcher position.  Puhalla and Poluga, along with Junior Trevor Bogovich will also add infield depth to our roster.

Pitching staff: Early in the spring so far we look to have a lot of depth. Our Pitching Staff is led by Senior Nick Roberts (RHP - 8GP, (1-1) 15 IP, 13K), Junior Aiken Benshoff (RHP) and Sophomores Garrett and Gavin Polcha. Seniors Teddy Maccarone (RHP - 8GP, (2-4) 22.1 IP, 26K, 4.39 ERA) & Johnny Estep (RHP - 6GP, (0-0) 10.2 IP, 11K) can start and relieve. The same can be said for Juniors Owen Puhalla (RHP), Lucas Poluga (RHP), Jackson Courtheyn (RHP) and Lefty Luke Haney along with Sophomore Oliver Walter (RHP).

Season outlook / expectations: “The Suburban League remains one of the premier baseball conferences in the area, featuring high-level competition and well-established coaching staffs throughout. The defending league champion Highland Hornets highlight a deep and talented field,” said Haney. “Our Roster is built around a strong and experienced senior class that continues to push the program to reach our standards. Our expectations are high. With strong pitching depth, we anticipate being a contender in the Suburban League American Division while positioning ourselves for success in the Division III postseason.”
