Windham Bombers 2026 Baseball Preview

Team name: Windham Bombers

2025 record: 12-10

Coach: Jake Eye - 4th year

Coaching staff: Jeff Kiser, Casey Anderson, Chase Eye

Key returning players:
Keegan Kiser (10), Bryan Smithberger (10), Eliot Kepich (10), Devin Sherman (10), Malikye Petrich (10), Micheal Bolyard (10), Cam Batterby (10), Gavin Kiser (12), and Jordan Ridenbaugh (12) who is still recovering from a torn ACL suffered in football will be a huge pick up for us once he returns.  A 4 year starter who is solid defensively and is another tough out in out lineup.

Position outlook:

Infield: Our infield will consist of Keegan Kiser, Bryan Smithberger, Eliot Kepich, Gavin Kiser, Aidan McGahee and Devin Sherman. Keegan and Bryan will spell each other at shortstop while the other is on the mound. Both are sophomores with great baseball knowledge and passion for the game.  Although both sophomores we look for them to be our leaders.  Both are going to be a hard out at the plate and will be our top 2 guys on the mound.  Both have great command and presence on the mound and will always give us a chance to compete. Eliot and Devin both sophomores will split time with each other at 1B. Both have good size for the position and have become more consistent defenders.  Both posess power at the plate and will anchor us in the middle of our lineup.  Senior Gavin Kiser will transition from the outfield to 2B.  A solid glove in the field and a scrappy demeanor at the plate don't let his size fool you, his heart pounds heavy he will give us everything he's got.  9th grader Aidan Mcgahee will see a lot of time at 3B.  He possesses a ton of size and a very big arm.  We are very excited about this young man.  He has shown tremendous ability at the plate with his power.  He is going to be a good one!

Outfield: Sophomore Cam Batterby will anchor us in centerfield.  Very quick and gets tremendous jumps on baseballs that you would think could not be caught.  Defense is his strength but has shown a lot of growth and toughness at the plate.  Left and Right field will be a combination of newcomers.  Freshman Kaidan Fincham has proven to be the frontrunner showing he has the defensive skills and arm to anchor either position.  We are very excited for his HS career to get started.  Sophomore Malikye Petrich and Senior Louden Collins will see significant time as well between left and right field.  Malikye gained a lot of experience last year as a freshman and has shown a lot of progress this year.  Louden is a few years removed from the game but is athletic and capable of helping us track down fly balls.

Catcher: Sophomore Michael Bolyard will see most of the action behind the plate.  He has shown a lot of potential and willingness to get better.  He has shown the toughness needed to play this position, and has tremendous quickness matched with a strong arm.  We are excited to see what he can do.

Pitching staff: We believe this to be our strength this season with added depth and experience.  Keegan Kiser and Bryan Smithberger will be our one two punch.  Both have great command of several pitches and the ability to throw any pitch in any count.  They are a year stronger and both have the ability to go deep into games and give us a chance to win game in and game out.  I am excited for them this season.  Michael Bolyard, Eliot Kepich, Kaidan Fincham, Aidan Mcgahee, Gavin Kiser and Malikye Petrich all have the ability to give us solid innings this season.  They all possess good command and strong arms and will give us much needed depth as we navigate rainouts.

Season outlook / expectations: “
Freshman Aidan Mcgahee and Kaidan Fincham have earned starting roles.  Both are very talented and have an extremely bright future in the game. Biggest area of strength I believe will be our pitching,” said Eye. “Again Keegan and Bryan have the capability of shutting teams down and going deep into games.  I also believe we have a lot of depth with many guys capable of giving us quality innings and a chance to compete. Biggest cause for concern…with youth comes growing pains.  A sophomore heavy team we will need to continue to be patient as the fruit ripens.”
