Roosevelt wins first Portage County flag football matchup 34-18 over Streetsboro
MACEDONIA, OH- On Sunday afternoon at Boliantz Stadium in Macedonia the Roosevelt Rough Riders and Streetsboro Rockets squared off in the first ever all Portage County girls flag football game. It was the final game of the day for both teams. The Rough Riders would us five touchdown passes en route to a 34-18 win over the Rockets.
Roosevelt began with the ball. On the 2nd play Tea Eagle intercepted a Grace Schoenberger pass to put the Rockets in good field position. A few plays later Ava Scisciani would hit Kendall Epple on a touchdown pass for the first score of the game.

The PAT was unsuccessful as the Rockets took a 6-0 lead.
Roosevelt would strike back with a Schoenberger to Lindsay Wills touchdown pass. The PAT pas was good as they took a 7-6 lead.

After empty possessions by both sides, it was the Scisciani to Epple combo once again for another Rockets touchdown. They would miss on the PAT pass as they jumped back in front 12-7.

The Rough Riders would close out the first half with another Schoenberger to Wills touchdown as Wills took the short completion to the house. The PAT pass was good and the Rough Riders took a 14-12 lead into the break.

The Rough Riders opened the 2nd half with the 3rd touchdown pass of the game for Grace Schoenberger as she connected with Ella Chambers for the score. The PAT was good putting Roosevelt up 21-12.

Roosevelt then came up with a big defensive play as Mahlia Friedman picked off a Scisciani pass.

The Rough Riders would capitalize as Brooklyn Frank hit Chambers for a touchdown. The PAT was no good and the Rough Riders took a commanding 27-12 lead.

The Rockets were not done yet. After a long run by Epple, Scisciani hit Jazlynn Crudup for a Rockets touchdown. The PAT pass attempt was unsuccessful as the Rockets trailed 27-18.

Roosevelt would finish off the game with a Frank touchdown pass to Nevaeh Sowers and a converted PAT for a 34-18 lead.
