Streetsboro outlasts Crestwood 48-44
MANTUA, OH- The Crestwood Lady Red Devils played host to the Streetsboro Lady Rockets on Tuesday night in a Portage County non-league matchup. Crestwood came in at 5-6 in the midst of their toughest stretch of games this season while Streetsboro was looking for their 7th win in 8 games to start the season.
Crestwood jumped out to a 4-0 lead after back to back buckets from Reese Harper and Ava Lincoln. Carlee Bedford splashed a three for the Rockets to get them on the board. The lead exchanged hands on the next few possessions before Streetsboro ended the first half on a 6-0 run capped off by a Carman Marcini jumper to end the quarter. The Rockets held an 11-6 lead after one.

Streetsboro would open up a 15-6 lead after Olivia Johnson-Wilson and Carlee Bedford scored back to back. Ava Lincoln nailed a three for Crestwood before a Bedford and-one conversion put the Rockets up 19-9.

The Red Devils would then go on a big 10-0 run fueled by another Lincoln three and capped off with a Becca Brady jumper to tie the game at 19.

Streetsboro would respond with a 9-0 run to close the half capped off by a Bedford three and Johnson-Wilson drive and score.

The Rockets would take a 28-19 lead into the half after the 9-0 run.
Crestwood started the 2nd half strong with a 7-0 run fueled by a pair of Piper Seibold buckets to cut the deficit to two at 28-26.

Streetsboro would regain control late in the 3rd after Crestwood would once again cut the deficit to two at 34-32 before the Rockets outscored the 9-4 to end the quarter as a Johnson-Wilson drive rebound and putback gave the Rockets a 43-36 lead after three.

Crestwood would have one more run in them in the final frame starting quarter 4 on a 7-0 run tying the game at 43-43 after a Reese Harper putback. The Rockets would gain control for good following a Kendall Epple three and a big score inside by Ava Bodovetz put them up 48-43 with under a minute to play. They would take home the 48-44 win to move to 7-1 on the season despite leading scorer Carlee Bedford stuck in foul trouble for most of the 2nd half.
Olivia Johnson-Wilson paced the Rockets with 14 points and 6 rebounds while Bedford chipped in with 12 points, all coming in the 1st half.
Reese Harper led the Devils with 9 points and 11 rebounds.
Streetsboro looks to keep it rolling when they travel to Canfield on Saturday while the Red Devils look to bounce back at Louisville.
