Mogadore Falls to Marlington 11-1

Alliance, OH- The Mogadore Wildcats traveled to Alliance Thursday afternoon to take on the Marlington Dukes on the softball diamond. The Wildcats entered the game 1-1, while the Dukes entered with a record of 3-0.

It was the Wildcats getting on the board first, when Sophomore Layla Funk scampered home on a wild pitch. Unfortunately for the visitors, that would be all they could get across against Marlington hurler Justine Doringo. Doringo finished the game going 5 innings, allowing only one run while scattering 6 hits.

For the Wildcats, 2 of those 6 hits came off the bat of Senior Centerfielder Rylee Clark. Clark led the offense for the Wildcats, going 2-3. Also gathering hits for the ‘Cats were Funk, Natalya Bartholomew, Autumn Betts, and Morgan Smith.

It was Doringo that helped her own cause at the plate, slamming a 3-run home run in the 4th inning as the Dukes plated 6 in the frame.

The Wildcats (1-2) return home tomorrow evening as they welcome Sandy Valley.
