Position outlook - players expected to contribute this season and a little bit about them:
Infield: The infield returns, Khloe Cutright, Ella Simpson and Mallorie Gierke. Simpson (.389 BA, 26runs) and Gierke (.339 BA ) will hold down the left side. Cutright ( 2nd Team all county .444BA 28 hits, 23 RBI's) returns to second but may also find some time in the outfield as we try to fill two voids. Amy Rein will find time at 1st when not in the circle along with Kaidence Cox as we attempt to replace 2nd team all-district Senior Hailey Miller.
Outfield: Only thing we know for sure about our outfield is 1st Team all-county, 2nd team All District Junior Olivia Knepper (.514 BA, 38 hits, 25 runs) will be in center field. Payton Williams, Kaelyn Malloy and Ashleigh Denvir are competing for the left field spot. Those not winning the spot in left will compete with Brianna Denvir for the right field position.
Catcher: Olivia DeToro (.341 BA .985 FP 29 hits, 29 runs & 2nd Team All County) will be the main receiver for our pitchers. She could get spelled at times from newcomers Kaidence Cox and Ashleigh Denvir.
Pitching staff: Amy Rein (2025 All-State HM, 10-2 3.32 ERA) returns for her Junior year. She will get support this year from Senior Payton Williams and Kaleyn Malloy who moves up from the JV staff.
Season outlook / expectations: “Expectations for the Rockets are high this year after finishing 2025 with a league record of 10-4 (3rd place) and overall record of 17-9,” said Moore. “We are not deep in numbers with experience so a main key to a successful season will depend on us remaining healthy. If we do, we should compete with the top teams in our league and hopefully a deeper run at tournament time.”
