Mogadore Falls to St. Thomas 57-41

Louisville, OH- The Mogadore Wildcats paid a visit to Louisville to take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Knights on Friday evening. In an unprecedented week of postponements and school cancellations for the weather and sub-zero temperatures, it was nice to get back to some semblance of normalcy in a gymnasium. Unfortunately for the Wildcats, they were unable to kickstart their offense after the extended layoff, dropping the contest to St. Thomas by a score of 57-41.

The ‘Cats were able to build an 8-4 lead in the early stages of the contest, but by the 1st quarters end, the Knights had a 13-9 lead. The Knights would not relinquish the lead the rest of the way, building a lead that often times was double what the Wildcats had. Despite the lopsided score, the Wildcats energy level didn’t dissipate. On the night, the Wildcats were led in the box score by Senior Tyler Pendergast who had 11 on the night, including two buckets from beyond the arc. Other top scorers for Mogadore included Landen Williams with 9 and Jordan Smith with 7.

The Knights were led offensively by Darryl Owens and Joran Jones with 13 apiece. Ky Johnson also ended the night in double digits with 10. The victory pulls the Knights to 4-9 while the loss drops the Wildcats to an identical 4-9. Next up for Mogadore is a matchup with Lake Center Christian at home Saturday afternoon.
