Ravenna Closes 2025 with Victory over Crestwood 61-53
Ravenna, OH - The Ravenna Ravens had one thing in mind on Tuesday night as the welcomed the Crestwood Red Devils to town. That was to end 2025 with a victory to head into the New Year above .500. It was a sentiment echoed postgame from Seniors Braylon Burks and CJ Ross as well as 1st year Head Coach Justin Rahim. The Ravens did a good job from the start setting the tone for the night, but it wasn’t an easy victory by any stretch of the imagination, as despite holding the advantage through much of the evening, the Red Devils used their defense to create offensive opportunities.
The Ravens held a slight advantage after the first 8 minutes of the game 18-14. While the hosts had a more balanced offensive output in the opening frame, it was more clear for the visitors how they would attempt to keep in striking distance as this game progressed. Senior Forward Angelo Dinardo accounted for 9 of the Red Devils 14 first quarter points on his way to a game high 28 points.
Both the 2nd and 3rd quarters featured much more defense for both squads, but the Ravens were able to extend their advantage on the scoreboard by 3 in both the quarters. With a 41-31 advantage heading into the final frame, the offensive pace kicked in to high gear for both teams. The 4th quarter featured the Ravens CJ Ross scoring 12 of his team high 25 as the Ravens scored 20 in the 4th. Dinardo answered with 11 as the Red Devils put up 22 to close out the night. The 8 point victory pulls the Ravens to 5-4 thus far on the season while the loss drops the Red Devils to 0-4. The Ravens return to action Friday night when they travel to take on Cardinal, while the Red Devils continue their road stretch Friday night as they head to Jefferson.
