Ravenna Lady Ravens roll past Springfield 52-21

RAVENNA, OH- It was senior night in Ravenna on Tuesday night as the Lady Ravens hosted the Springfield Spartans in a MAC matchup to wrap up the regular season. A large crowd showed up to show their support for the senior class and they were treated to a great showing by the Lady Ravens who cruised to a 52-21 win.

Springfield would jump out to a 4-2 lead after back to back buckets from Jillian Inch. Miriyah Sandifer would then hit from deep for the first long ball of the game for Ravenna.

Mackenzie Ervin would follow with a three of her own for the Ravens as they went on a 13-0 run that was capped off by a three from Kayden Welz to take a 15-4 lead.

Each team would split a pair of free throws to end the 1st with the Ravenna leading 16-5.

Jillian Inch opened the 2nd quarter scoring four points sandwiched around a Lou White basket for Ravenna cutting the Ravens lead to 18-9. Each team exchanged a basket before Jalysia Thompson scored three straight and White banked in a three for a 26-11 lead.

After a Spartan free throw split the Ravens would close the half on a 13-0 run that featured back to back three balls by Sandifer and one from Lilly Franklin to end the 1st half.

Ravenna took a commanding 42-12 lead into the break.

It was a low scoring 3rd with a running clock in place. Jalysia Thompson would round out the scoring for the Ravens in the 3rd as they led 50-13 after three.

Ravenna would empty the bench a few minutes into the 4th. Springfield would outscore them 8-2 to give us the final score of 52-21 in favor of the Ravens.

Jalysia Thompson had another stat stuffer performance with 17 points, 13 rebounds, 7 blocks and 7 steals unofficially. Miriyah Sandifer chipped on with 13 and 3 three balls.

Jillian Inch led the Spartans with 9 points.
